No, you don't have to do much of anything! Here are answers to the most commonly asked questions about organizing a group.
1. WHY WOULD I WANT TO TRAVEL
WITH A GROUP?
Studies have found that people generally like to do things in
a group and have a great time doing it. In a group, everyone has
different likes and dislikes. This creates a nice combination for varied
interests. As a couple, you can always have someone to share a tour with, meet
in a lounge area or go to a show.
2. DO I HAVE TO PARTICIPATE IN
ACTIVITIES WITH THE GROUP?
The simple answer is NO. It's your vacation. As a group, you
are on the same ship together, but everyone goes in their own direction, when
they want and how they want.
3. WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF A
GROUP?
The price for a group is very attractive. In Addition, usually
a group receives lower rates. Special amenities can sometimes be included depending on the number of people in the group, such as group photos,
cocktail parties, champagne and chocolates in cabin, free upgrades, shipboard credits, packets of information preparing for the cruise (this is especially nice for first time cruisers-or if they do not have access to the Internet).
4. I HAVE HEARD THAT SOMETIMES A
GROUP LEADER OR THE GROUP CAN RECEIVE A FREE CRUISE. IS THIS TRUE?
Simply stated, YES! Depending on the length of your cruise and
destination determines how the free is earned. Example: a typical seven day
cruise in the Caribbean, the group leader or group can earn one free passenger
for every eight cabins sold, or two free for every 16 cabins sold. These frees
can go to the group leader and he/she can go free. Or, if the leader wants to
divide up the amount earned among the group, this can be done. Or, the free can
go to a worthy cause or charity.
5. AS A GROUP LEADER, DO I HAVE
TO 'BABY SIT' SO TO SPEAK, WITH THE GROUP?
The answer again is NO. All preparations for the cruise before and during are prepared by CruiseWIZ.
6. AS A GROUP LEADER, AM I
RESPONSIBLE FOR COLLECTING ALL THE MONEY FROM THE GROUP AND THEN SENDING IT TO
CRUISEWIZ?
The answer is NO. We design flyers with reservation forms for
each cabin to fill out their individual information and mail, email, fax or call in with a credit card deposit directly to CruiseWIZ.
7. OK, SO CRUISEWIZ COLLECTS THE
MONEY, HOW DOES EACH INDIVIDUAL IN THE GROUP KNOW WHAT THEIR BALANCE IS ON THE
CRUISE?
Once deposit is received, we mail an invoice to each person in
the cabin detailing the itinerary, the category purchased, the air city they
will depart from, as well as who they are traveling with, the total amount due,
total paid and when the next payment is due.
8. AS A GROUP LEADER, HOW DO I
KNOW HOW MANY CABINS HAVE BEEN SOLD?
Just give us a call. We'll update you on the status of the group.
9. I HAVE A SMALL COMPANY.
CAN I SEND ALL MY EMPLOYEES ON A CRUISE AS A PROMOTION FOR OUR COMPANY TO
INCREASE OUR SALES AND/OR PRODUCTIVITY?
Yes. This is basically handled the same way as a group, with
some exceptions. We can tailor the structure of how payments are made and
amenities to your company's needs.
10. OK! YOU HAVE CONVINCED
ME. HOW DO I GET A GROUP STARTED?
Just call our office. One of our group
specialists will go over your groups plans with you.
The information we will need is:
- What date does the group want to sail
- What itinerary does the group desire
- What type of budget or cost the group is trying to stay at
From this point then, your assigned group
specialist will call you back with the
information on the group, then we proceed to putting a flyer together for the
group leader to hand out and invite his/her friends or the group to go with
him/her on a cruise.
